Admiral Farragut's Ships - USS Albatross

The gunboat USS Albatross, in a sketch by William M. C. Philbrick, depicting her off Mobile, Alabama, on 25 September 1863.  The Albatross was lashed to the port side of Farragut's flagship USS Hartford for the run past the Port Hudson batteries.  These two ships were the only ones which successfully made the passage.  (Photo from the U.S. Naval Historical Center .)
